1. Two years of product coverage

Stanklin provides a two-year replacement warranty for all Stanklin products. The period starts on the original purchase date shown on your invoice or receipt. Keep that document together with the product model and serial number. Send your serial number to our team to verify the warranty start date, expiry date and number of warranty days remaining. If proof of purchase is unavailable, contact us with the information you have so we can help establish the purchase and coverage details.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that arise during normal use within the product’s published installation, power and operating requirements. It applies to Stanklin cameras, recorders, video doorphones and Stanklin-branded accessories. A product does not have a shorter warranty simply because it is an accessory.

Separately branded equipment supplied by another manufacturer is subject to its own warranty and any rights against the seller. An installer’s workmanship or separately purchased service is governed by that service agreement. A longer written Stanklin warranty supplied with your purchase remains applicable; this policy does not shorten it.

2. What is covered

Covered faults include a manufacturing defect that prevents a product or its supplied Stanklin component from performing its documented function. Examples may include a defective camera imaging component, recorder electronics, a supplied power component or a mechanical component, where assessment identifies a defect rather than external damage or incompatible use.

A fault must be assessed in the context of the exact model, installation and symptoms. An intermittent fault can still qualify: describe when it occurs and provide relevant error messages or photographs. You do not need to identify the failed electronic component yourself.

Report a fault as soon as reasonably possible. If you report a covered fault within the warranty period, keep the correspondence and claim reference while the case is being resolved. Do not continue using equipment that appears electrically unsafe.

3. Replacement and resolution

For an accepted warranty claim, Stanklin will arrange replacement of the defective product or component without charging for the covered replacement. Replacement arrangements take account of product availability and applicable consumer law. If an identical replacement is unavailable, we will discuss a functionally equivalent alternative with you.

If repair or replacement cannot provide an appropriate remedy, any further remedy, including a refund where required, will be handled according to applicable law and the purchase agreement. We will explain the proposed resolution before asking you to accept a different product.

Repair or replacement does not reduce the unexpired original two-year coverage. Any longer protection or restarted period required by law also applies. A replacement does not automatically begin a new two-year commercial warranty unless stated in writing or required by law.

Stanklin provides a two-day replacement service for eligible warranty claims, subject to replacement stock availability, and reports meeting this timeframe in 99% of cases. Our team will confirm the timing for your case, dispatch and delivery arrangements, and any stock-related delay. Transit times may vary.

4. What this product warranty does not cover

The following are excluded where they cause the fault or damage being claimed. An unrelated defect is not excluded merely because one of these circumstances exists:

  • Accidental damage, dropping, impact, crushing, theft, vandalism, fire or other external damage.
  • Damage caused by incorrect voltage, incompatible power equipment, electrical surges, lightning or incorrect wiring.
  • Damage from installation or use outside published limits, including temperature, humidity, mounting or environmental requirements. An indoor-only camera is not an outdoor camera.
  • Water or dust damage caused by use outside the product’s stated protection rating, improperly sealed connections or installation contrary to instructions. A manufacturing defect in a protective enclosure remains assessable under the warranty.
  • Damage caused by an incompatible modification, incorrect repair, unsuitable accessory or firmware not intended for the exact model and hardware revision.
  • Ordinary cosmetic wear, scratches and normal ageing that do not result from a defect in materials or workmanship.
  • Normal battery capacity reduction or storage-media wear from use. A manufacturing defect in a Stanklin-branded battery or storage component is not automatically excluded.

Use of a third-party accessory or independent repair service, or opening a housing, does not by itself cancel the entire warranty. Damage caused by that action may be excluded, subject to applicable law. We will explain the reason for a declined claim.

Network outages, internet-service problems, third-party application availability, incorrect configuration and installation design are not themselves manufacturing defects. We can help distinguish these issues from a product fault. The warranty does not guarantee that every event will be detected or that a security system will prevent every loss.

5. How to make a claim

  1. Contact Stanklin or your seller. Email info@stanklin.com with “Warranty claim” in the subject. You can also begin with the seller who supplied the equipment.
  2. Provide the product and purchase details. Include the model, serial number, purchase date, seller, country and a copy of the receipt or invoice. Add your name, reply email and a short explanation of the fault.
  3. Describe the symptoms. Include any error message, when the problem started, whether it is intermittent, the firmware version if available and troubleshooting already attempted. Relevant photos can help; avoid private recordings and passwords.
  4. Follow the diagnostic guidance. The team may ask for safe checks to identify a setup problem or confirm the fault. Do not dismantle unsafe equipment or install an uncertain firmware file.
  5. Receive return instructions if needed. Obtain the case or return-authorisation reference, exact return address, items to include, packaging guidance and shipping arrangements before dispatch.
  6. Assessment and resolution. Once the product is assessed, we will explain the coverage decision and proposed repair, replacement or other applicable remedy. Keep your reference for follow-up.

Sending an enquiry is the start of the claim process; it is not automatic approval. If you disagree with a decision, reply with the case reference and any additional evidence and request a review. This process does not prevent you exercising rights against the seller or using statutory complaint and remedy routes.

6. Returning equipment safely

Do not send equipment to a website or headquarters address without return instructions. The correct service destination may depend on your country, seller and model. Send only the items requested and include the claim reference inside the package.

Use protective packaging appropriate to the product, with cushioning to prevent movement and impact. Photograph the condition and package before dispatch and retain shipment tracking. Ask for instructions before returning a damaged, leaking or swollen battery; transport restrictions may apply.

Return authorisation is an administrative step and does not remove mandatory consumer remedies. If the product was damaged in delivery, retain the packaging and promptly contact the seller with photographs and delivery information.

7. Shipping, installation and non-warranty work

Covered parts and repair labour are supplied without charge for an accepted claim. Shipping, collection, removal and reinstallation arrangements will be explained for your case before return or service work is agreed. Charges will not be imposed where applicable law requires those costs to be borne by Stanklin or the seller.

This product warranty does not automatically include an on-site visit, a replacement system during service, or unrelated installation upgrades. Any separately agreed service entitlement continues to apply.

If the reported issue falls outside warranty coverage, we will explain why and provide any proposed charge for diagnosis, repair or return before paid work is authorised. You can decline an optional paid repair. Do not assume that an enquiry or a returned product authorises chargeable work.

8. Recordings, storage and account access

Back up recordings, configurations and other information you need before service where it is safe and possible. Repair, reset or replacement can erase data. The product warranty is not a recording-recovery service.

Ask whether removable hard drives or memory cards should stay with the product. Remove them only when instructed and safe to do so. If the fault involves storage, the service team may need that component to diagnose it. Tell us if you cannot back up or remove sensitive data so an appropriate next step can be discussed.

Never email your camera, recorder, network or personal-account passwords. Ask for instructions on removing account links or establishing any access necessary for diagnosis. Personal information supplied with a claim is handled under our Privacy Policy.

9. Your legal rights

This warranty is additional to rights provided by applicable consumer and sale-of-goods laws. It does not exclude, restrict or replace non-excludable rights, including any entitlement to repair, replacement, refund or compensation required by law. Local law may provide a longer period or different remedies.

No requirement in this policy overrides a mandatory legal protection. Product-specific written terms and your purchase agreement should be read alongside this policy. Changes to the website will not retrospectively reduce warranty coverage already provided with a purchase.

10. Contact and next steps

Email info@stanklin.com or call +886 3 380 4790. Include your model and any existing case reference so the team can locate the correct information.

The Stanklin headquarters contact is Taiwan Stanklin CCTV Co., Ltd., No. 287-1, Wenzhong Rd, Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan 330. This is a contact address, not an instruction to ship equipment there. Obtain the designated service address first.
