RISKS TO PLAN FOR

Understand the risks in your sector.

Use these common scenarios to identify the areas that need attention at your site.

Restricted-area access

Uncontrolled entry can put visitors near machinery or sensitive production areas.

Materials and stock loss

Goods can go missing during storage, picking or loading handovers.

Vehicle movement

Forklift routes and pedestrian crossings can create conflict points around busy loading areas.

Illustrative scenarios. Cameras can help staff review events; combine coverage with appropriate access controls, safe working practices and on-site procedures.

START WITH THE SPACE

Put the important areas in view.

01

Loading & dispatch

Aim fixed cameras at receiving and dispatch doors. Include staging areas so the recording shows the movement of goods before and after a handover.

02

Production circulation

Cover shared lanes and approaches to workstations with views suited to the building. Avoid mounting where equipment vibration or moving machinery will obstruct the image.

03

Perimeter & storage

Use outdoor-rated bullet cameras at access points and external storage. A PTZ adds operator-controlled detail across larger yards while fixed views keep recording key areas.

FROM EVENTS TO UNDERSTANDING

See the moment.
Review the context.

Line-crossing or intrusion zones, where supported by the selected camera, can draw attention to activity at defined boundaries. Recorded footage provides context for a review; it does not replace machine guards or safety procedures.

Face detection captures a face snapshot; it does not identify who a person is. Choose camera positions and recording settings around the detail you need.

BUILD YOUR SYSTEM

A starting point for your project.

Confirm model suitability, coverage and storage with your installer.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

A better plan starts on site.

Record mounting heights, dust or heat exposure, available light and separate network-switch locations. Specialist environments need an installation assessment and appropriately rated hardware.

Can ordinary cameras be installed in hazardous areas?

Do not assume standard cameras are suitable. Have the area assessed and select equipment with the required ratings for that specific environment.

How much recording can I keep?

Retention depends on camera count, bitrate, recording schedule and installed disks. Share your required retention period so storage can be sized for your system.
