SECURITY FOR AUTOMOTIVE

From the forecourt to the service bay.

Keep a clearer record of vehicle arrivals, customer handovers and activity around valuable stock. Build coverage around the way vehicles and people move through your dealership or workshop.

RISKS TO PLAN FOR

Understand the risks in your sector.

Use these common scenarios to identify the areas that need attention at your site.

Vehicle theft

Unsecured gates and quiet vehicle lots can leave stock exposed after closing.

Damage disputes

Scratches or damage discovered after servicing can be difficult to trace without a clear timeline.

Workshop access

Uncontrolled entry to service bays can expose tools, keys and vehicles.

Illustrative scenarios. Cameras can help staff review events; combine coverage with appropriate access controls, safe working practices and on-site procedures.

START WITH THE SPACE

Put the important areas in view.

01

Forecourt & vehicle access

Use an outdoor bullet camera for each approach. Frame entry lanes separately from broad parking views so useful detail is not lost across a large scene.

02

Service bays

Position cameras to see vehicle handovers and shared work areas. Choose views that help you review the sequence of an incident without relying on a single obstructed angle.

03

Parts & reception

Cover the parts-store entrance and customer reception with indoor dome cameras. Pair a wide room view with a more focused view of the handover area.

FROM EVENTS TO UNDERSTANDING

See the moment.
Review the context.

Human and vehicle event snapshots help you move from a recorded arrival to the surrounding footage. A PTZ can inspect a distant part of the yard while fixed cameras maintain the core overview.

Face detection captures a face snapshot; it does not identify who a person is. Choose camera positions and recording settings around the detail you need.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

A better plan starts on site.

Bring a site plan showing gates, parked stock, workshop doors and existing cable routes. Note overnight lighting and the longest distance at which useful detail is required.

Will the system automatically read number plates?

No plate recognition is claimed here. Visible plate detail depends on distance, angle, speed and light. Plan and test a dedicated view if recorded plate detail matters.

How much recording can I keep?

Retention depends on camera count, bitrate, recording schedule and installed disks. Share your required retention period so storage can be sized for your system.
