What 4K detail brings to a business recording.

Understand resolution, framing and the difference between a broad view and useful detail.

More pixels, with a purpose

A 3840 × 2160 recording provides detail that can help when reviewing a scene. Stanklin 8MP IP cameras use Sony IMX415 STARVIS sensors. The benefit is strongest when the important subject occupies enough of the frame; a very distant subject can still be too small.

Lens and placement work together

Choose a mounting position around the subject distance and intended view. Resolution cannot recover an area that is behind a wall or outside the lens view. A broad camera view is useful for orientation, while a separate focused view can help at entrances and handover points.

Light and motion still matter

Strong backlight, reflections and movement affect recorded detail. Inspect footage at the busiest time of day and after dark. If colour details matter overnight, compare the selected model’s supported night modes in the actual environment rather than judging daytime footage alone.

Design the recording chain

Confirm that the recorder, network and storage suit the selected streams. Stanklin NVRs support up to 4K at 30 FPS per channel; camera output and configuration also matter. Set a retention target and review recorded samples before signing off the installation. Clear vehicle footage should not be described as automatic number-plate recognition.
